Java St Andrews Society Ball

Perth Highland Pipe Band was lucky enough to be invited back to Jakarta again for the annual St Andrew's Ball.
Eight bandsmen were flown to Indonesia Thursday night for the weekend of St Andrew's Society events, including performing for the primary school children at the Jakarta International School on the Friday morning and playing at a fundraising golf day for the Society in the afternoon.

The band then played on Saturday night for the Ball, playing brackets throughout the night from 6pm to 3:30am, and also attending the official breakfast on the Sunday morning!
The St Andrew's Society Ball is a very grand function, attended by approximately 500 mostly Scottish expatriots working in Jakarta. This year's Ball included a key note address from the former Scotland Rugby Captain and tradition caleigh music from Scotland's Graham Geddies Band.

Amongst the official duties, the bandsmen found time to relax in the Menara Peninsular Hotel pool and visit their favourite Indian Restaurant, The Fez, on the Friday night and lunch at Amigo's Mexican Restaurant on the Sunday before flying home.

The bandsmen flew home on the Sunday midnight flight, looking resplendant in Batik shirts.
