Jakarta Highland Gathering 07

Although Perth Highland couldn't gather enough players to send a quintet team to Jakarta for the 30th Annual Highland Gathering this year, we were well represented by our Drum Sergeant, Dave Johnston, who played with the City of Blacktown (NSW) band.

Dave not only helped Blacktown win the Silver medal in the Quintet competitions, he also took out the Gold in the Open Solo Snare Drumming. Also playing with Blacktown was Jamie Robinson. Robbo joined Blacktown when he left Perth to work in Sydney. He has recently moved to Brisbane, but took the opportunity to play for Blacktown again in Jakarta.

The winning Quintet team was St Mary's District Pipes and Drums from Sydney.
